NZ Fashion Week, 2016.. What Could Possibly Go Wrong??

Last week’s post was next level.

Where did it stem from? Frustration. Discouragement. Passion. An intense moment of self belief, a desire to do better, to feel better, to be better.

I wanted to remind myself that what I’m doing.. Where I’m at.. Where I’m not.. It’s all ok. And hopefully in return, it made you feel ok about the journey you’re having, wherever you’re at, whatever you’re doing.

Because at the end of the day.. We gotta do it for ourselves.

So that’s what I’m keeping in mind as I head into the next adventure..

Today marks the beginning of Fashion Week 2016 – the week where NZ’s finest come out to play, to display, to soiree and to slay. The week where models, bloggers, photographers, stylists, celebrities and designers alike all make their way down to the Auckland Viaduct to check what’s hot right now in the big wide occasionally barmy world that is fashuuun.

Last year, I went along as a fresh wide eyed little hustler, just starting to work out the lay of the NZ media land. Despite having only been doing Monday Hustle for a few months, I somehow managed to receive a media pass. I somehow managed to get sponsored. I somehow managed to get featured in Cleo. And I somehow managed to score a few goodie bags…

Complimentary coffee never gets old.

This year, although I’ll be going in with a better understanding of what to expect, unfortunately, I couldn’t really afford to do the whole Fashion thing. And I’m gonna be honest. I simply didn’t get organized in time to hustle sponsorship for the event.

So, being a slightly slack hustler on a budget, there was only only one thing for it.

Remember last week when I said that I’d been op-shopping for 5 hours?

Wasn’t lying.

Make sure you’re following Monday Hustle on Instagram to see all the outfits I’ll be wearing across the week with confidence. Because if I don’t wear them with confidence, I’ll look so out of my depth it won’t just be funny.. It’ll be hilarious. Some of them are slightly outrageous. I’ve been channeling my inner Iris Apfel after all..

And with the theme being ‘nothing is as it seems’, between you and me, the risk of a wardrobe malfunction is pretty darn high. Siiigh. Any publicity is good publicity, right..?

Once I’ve got some double sided flash tape from K-Mart.. I’m going in.

Wish me luck!!
